Istruzione:

Example phrases:

A bikini, swim trunks, and sunglasses are best for a beach holiday.

Porto piccoli oggetti nel bagaglio a mano.

I take small items in my hand luggage.

Per le vacanze più lunghe, imbarco una valigia in più o a volte un piccolo trolley.

For longer holidays, I check in an extra suitcase or sometimes a small trolley

Porto con me il mio zaino da 20 litri con il minor numero possibile di oggetti.

I take my 20-liter backpack with me with as little items as possible.

Io uso una valigia morbida perché è più leggera.

I use a soft suitcase because it is lighter.

Ma quella rigida protegge meglio le cose dentro.

But the hard one protects things inside better.

È vero, però la morbida ha più tasche esterne per organizzare.

That's true, but the soft one has more external pockets for organizing.

Per viaggi lunghi, io prendo una valigia grande con le ruote.

For long trips, I take a large suitcase with wheels.

Io invece uso una borsa da viaggio, più facile da mettere in macchina.

I instead use a travel bag, easier to put in the car.

Dipende anche dal tipo di viaggio: per lavoro preferisco la valigia rigida.

It also depends on the type of trip: for work I prefer a hard suitcase.

Credo che sia 8 chilogrammi per la maggior parte delle compagnie.

E cosa non si può portare nel bagaglio a mano?

And what is not allowed in carry-on luggage?

Non si possono portare liquidi oltre i 100 ml in contenitori singoli.

Sì, e niente oggetti affilati o pericolosi.

Yes, and no sharp or dangerous objects.

Meglio controllare sempre prima di partire.

Puoi spostare qualche oggetto nel bagaglio da stiva, se ne hai uno.

Ricorda che non puoi portare liquidi grandi nel bagaglio a mano.

My wife always chooses elegant clothes, while I prefer to bring comfortable clothes. You say that maybe we should also bring an umbrella, because it often rains in Rome in spring. In fact, yesterday we checked the forecast and realized that it's better to be ready for any eventuality.
